A Rumor

Stix n Brix
Clayton, NC

Someone (Gin) posted a vicious rumor on her facebook page recently.  She said something about celebrating my 50th birthday the other day.  Well that's just not true!  It was my birthday and indeed it was my big  5 0, but it wasn't much of a celebration.  I worked that day!  The delicious dinner of grilled chicken, corn on the cob, spinach, and biscuits was very nice to come home to though.  Thanks Gin!

Her parents gave me a card that said "This birthday is just the beginning of years of when you'll be in your prime, so welcome to brand-new adventures and life's most enjoyable time!".  The card from my Mom said "Fifty years old is a great age to be- You know who you are and in life, this is key... You've done many things, but there's still more to do... New goals to be met and dreams to come true,  New people and places and reasons to be glad- Enough to make fifty the best year you've had."  Gin's card in part said "I know the things that make life happy can't be bought...like love, time, and kindnesses- yet they're the best gifts of all..."  I think all of these passages hold true and really relate well to the fulltime rv lifestyle.  Something tells me that they all know me pretty well.

A quick welcome is extended to our most recent follower, Nina who has that wonderful website that I encourage everyone to check out.  It sounds like she's having a great summer out west.

Thanks for dropping by, and enjoy each day of your life's journey by finding beauty in the ordinary.

Happy 50th! Those three cards were certainly hand picked for you - great verses. But, it sure doesn't seem fair to have to work on a birthday.

Happy Birthday, Syl! 50 for me was more than fifteen years ago, and I still have to say, it was transformational. Completely. The me before 50 and the me after 50 are barely related. Go for it!

Happy Birthday! It was a long time coming and, from here, a long time going. Enjoy.

You may find as I did that the closer one gets to 50, the more that other people seem to want from you. But once 50 comes, they actually start trying to give to you instead of take.

AARP is a good jump start to this, FYI.

Enjoy.

We are loving our 50's for most of the reasons your cards explained. Loving them the most since we really are finding and accepting exactly who we are and why it is so much fun to always be true to who we are!

Happy Belated Birthday!

No way! 50? Can't believe that. You look half that age.

Must be all that camping, biking and boating that keeps you looking so young. And to think, shortly, you'll be on the road and be doing all that fun stuff full time.

By next year's birthday, you'll look like a teenager! ;c)

Retiring at 50? Can I assume you are getting a 3% at 50 retirement? That's what I am looking forward to. Jumping ship before that's changed.
