Cedar Point CG (site #36)
Cedar Point, NC
We stayed in the driveway a month and had only one house showing. I thought things were supposed to pick up this time of year. Oh well, life goes on.
I finally got the crown put on my tooth on Monday morning and Gin went to her doctor’s appointment in the afternoon. Her doc was interested in the fulltiming lifestyle so he had no problems with the idea of keeping her prescriptions updated while she travels. We got things packed up and left the house Tuesday morning to go to one of our favorite places to relax for a couple of weeks. We are at Cedar Point CG which is a part of the Croatan National Forest in NC. It’s near the beach of Emerald Isle but it’s quiet and relaxing. After getting settled in, we got our hugs from the resident camp hosts Julie and Steve and cohost Roger. This place feels more like home. We just enjoyed sitting outside in our chairs. We are in our element, so to speak.
Today we threw the chairs in the Suki and went to the shore for some “wave studies”.
Gin enjoyed getting her feet wet while I just enjoyed the stress relief.
We were not alone on this beautiful day. This sanderling ran back and forth with the waves to get his own lunch, and just a few feet from our chairs stood this seagull who was waiting for us to throw him a cracker.
There were quite a few people out enjoying the beach today with their kids but we just had to show you the cutest but shyest one there. He was really enjoying walking into the wind.
We really needed this get away. I think we may never go back. The road awaits us.

Sorry about the house issue, it is so frustrating to have it hanging while you want to hit the road.
Glad you have gotten away and hit the beach. You'll have to fill us in on the finding of your wave study.
Hope things pick up on selling the s&b. We know how you feel. For about the last month we haven't had anyone come through until last weekend. I hate the waiting game.
I think you should do what you want to do. The house will eventually sell whether you are in the driveway or 3000 miles away...go for it!
I thought doctors might be a problem, but like you, our original primary care doctor in NY thought it was cool, and this winter we got set up with a new physician in Florida who is also fine with the idea. We did what we were told to do, and off we went :-).
Still have fingers crossed for a house sale!
Ahhhh, sand and surf -- no better surroundings for stress relief. Prayers continuing for the sale of your house. It'll happen when you least expect it.
Hope you get our site all spruced up;o)) Of course, only after you have finished chillin'!!
We may have to take the "Wave Study" course while we are there...
See you soon...Can't wait!!!
Sometimes houses sell when you aren't there :) Keeping our fingers crossed for you..summer's coming!
Judy and I certainly feel your "house pains". I'm glad you aren't letting it become your albatross. I hope you continue to find beauty in the ordinary.
Glad you got away to the beach for awhile. Looks like a nice spot.
SO glad to see you two out and about! Maybe if you stay away long enough the house will sell itself. Your spot at Cedar Point and your spot at the beach both look perfect to me!
I am so jealous! Wish we were there with you....but then again, I don't think that campground is big enough for the 6 of us. I'm just saying'!!!! If you see a little blue Honda Civic with a cute little lady in it tooling down the road, be sure to honk! It may be Mom!!
Ron and I past you on 40 Tuesday morning. We were headed home, from Cedar Point. We are sorry we missed you.
Looks like a nice relaxing place to stay.
Hope your house sells real soon.
We will keep our fingers crossed that just the right person will come along and bingo...SOLD!!
What a beautiful and peaceful place to just relax!! We might have to check that area out one day soon.
You guys enjoy and rest!!
Hang in there...it WILL happen!!
The housing market is still crazy. Even as recent buyers, we found it a very difficult task to actually settle a deal. Good luck:)
The chill time at the beach looks great. Just so ya know, the closing for our house happened when we were on the road. It will happen. We know how frustrating it is. Hang in there.
