Merry Christmas!

Stix n Brix
Clayton, NC

When we had our yard sale this past fall, we sold all our Christmas decorations except for one thing.  We almost kept the 2 feet tall Christmas tree with lights, but thought that it would be a bit cumbersome to pack in the MH.  This Nativity Scene fits nicely on our mantle this year and will fit just right on our dashboard next year.  In the meantime, it’ll pack nicely in it’s box under the dinette.  We will add Santa hats to Wanda’s ears (mirrors) and a string of lights around the windshield to be more festive.  We like the minimal amount of decorating because it’s less to take down.

We plan to spend Wednesday with Mom.  It’s her 83rd Birthday.  We’ll spend Thursday with Gin’s folks and then I’ll work Friday (Christmas Eve) night.  I’ve worked the Holiday most of my career so some of the sparkle is gone.  It’s a very special day and we honor the true meaning now more than celebrate the over commercialization.

All of our Christmas decorations, (a two-foot fiber optic tree and a couple stings of lights) fit in a small tub that we keep in the recesses of a driver's side bay. In less time that it takes to sing the first verse of Silent Night, the tree is plugged in and up on the dash. You two will enjoy how much easier Christmas becomes. Merry Christmas.

I totally agree with the minimalist approach. It's nice not to be bogged down with the headaches of putting up a bunch of stuff, just to have to take it down again. Sorry to hear that you're working Christmas Eve, but it sounds like you're making the best of it. Enjoy your festivities and have a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (and it will be a happy one on the road!).

Thank you, Syl, for your faithful service to your citizens, working on the Holiday. I know what that's like and we pray you'll have a quiet, joyful shift.

We're working on reducing the 12+ boxes of Christmas decorations we accumulated over the last 33 years into one. It's a struggle!
