Stuck

Stix n Brix
Clayton, NC

We left Lake Jordan Wednesday and pulled in to the driveway at the house to spend a few days here doing things that need doing.  We were gone about 3 weeks and we really didn’t want to come back.  Walking into the house felt even more different than last time.  It just feels like a shell to us.  It’s not “home”.

While we were gone this time, the house was shown only once.  It is being shown this afternoon so we are relaxing in the MH so that we can spy on the prospective buyers.  By spending most of our time in the MH, the house stays clean and show-ready.  I still get my hopes up every time we have a showing.  Think positive thoughts!

Gin’s Mom finally has a date set for her surgery in October.  She has an aneurism and is getting that taken care of.  We want to be nearby for that of course but I think we will have time to take another little trip before then to a familiar place.  We are luckier than so many people yet we are ready to hit the road and not come back.  We still have this house so we have responsibilities here.  Our time will come when it’s meant to be.

Thanks for dropping by, and enjoy each day of your life’s journey by finding beauty in the ordinary.

Keep in mind it only takes ONE buyer! The right one.

At least you are thru with all the prep and repair work. We have so much to do. Craig doesn't retire until December and we get so little done on weekends!

We are THINKING POSITIVE THOUGHTS!!! I just think that is so funny that you sit in the Motorhome spying on the prospective buyers;o)

Nice time of the year for another trip before the weather turns cold. Hey, it is beautiful at the beach ;o)))

Its much easier selling when you don't live in it for sure. Good luck.

You guys have everything all set. That buyer just has to come along.

I can just feel how ready you are to be gone. Best wishes to Gin's Mom! It is good that you aren't gone for this.

Our new realtor told us that if we can, be available when realtors are showing our house. Not to be looking over anyone's shoulders, but maybe sitting out on the deck in case the prosective buyers have questions. He explained that nobody knows your house better than you do and you can highlight the best features.

We're going to give it a try, maybe it'll help us get an offer.

Thoughts and prayers from us for Gin's mom that all will go well.

We also left bottled water and cookies or something, every time it was shown, to encourage people to stay in the house longer.

Fingers crossed. Hope all goes well for Gin's mom.

Hope all goes well for Gin's mom too.

The right buyer will come. I had forgotten, until I read Jo Beth and Catherine's comment, but I used to back a dozen chocolate chip cookies just before a showing and leave them out with a note to help themselves. The house smelled really good and the cookies were always gone :)

Keep the faith, guys...it only takes the right one! We are so fortunate to have sold the house in less than 6 months. And we had no offers, then a bidding war! So hang in there!!
