Weekend Wrap-up

Stix n Brix

We've had a fairly busy weekend getting the MH ready to roll.  It's funny how much easier it is for me to get motivated since I signed the retirement paperwork.  Of course, the beautiful Spring weather has been a big boost too.  It was very windy Saturday so we did things inside.  Gin worked on the electronics while I cleaned the bathroom and put a plastic weather seal on the screen door(kinda like a window).  Sunday morning was a good time to fill up the MH at the convenience store in front of our subdivsion...except there was a car at every pump and they were painting the parking spaces after having just sprayed the blacktop.  I was patient and everyone made room for Wanda as I filled her up and then backed out.  Then it was time for her bath.  The black streaks will wait for another time but those new tires look nice.  I took the Suki through the car wash to get a bit of pollen off and we put the kayaks on top.  Can ya tell we are ready?

I'm on night shift a few nights this week and then we head for the Smoky Mountains next week for the RV-Dreams Rally.  I think that will get us motivated for a big yard sale and inside house prep so we can put it on the market.  May and June will be busy months.  I hope Gin's MS can put up with the stress and my work schedule doesn't bother us too much.  We hope to relax a little in July and enjoy the last few weeks of my adult obligation (job).  It'll be too darn hot to by then to do strenuous stuff.

Well I'm off to vacuum Wanda and then a quick nap before going to work. Thanks for dropping by, and enjoy each day of your life's journey by finding beauty in the ordinary.

It will be a busy four months. We are very busy right now. How cool! When I retired, my co-workers called me a lot of names, such as slacker, lounge lizard, couch potato and so on. I retired after putting in twenty years with the city of Rockwall. The only problem about retiring young is uncle sam will stick it to you at a rate of 20% until you reach the ripe old age of 59 1/2. Who thinks these things up?????

These gas stations are getting harder and harder to get into. I'd like to meet the dummy who thought changing the direction of the pumps towards the stores instead of parallel to the road.

Looking forward to next week! ;c)

It's great to have a target date! Hope the house sells real quick once it's up for sale.

the kayaks! what fun. I am so looking forward to seeing your travels to the Smokies and about the RV Dreams Rally. We haven't managed a rally yet, the big one in Oregon this July happens after we leave for Alaska. Ah well. I'll learn from you.

It's getting so close. You've done so much since we've seen you in October. We'll be back in Raleigh/fairgrounds the first 2 weeks of May (maybe longer) wanna meet up again? I can't wait to hear about the rally. Wish we could go.

We're packing up too but apparently aren't as far along as you guys. No kayaks on the top or bikes on the back yet but we did fill Winnona up and nearly dropped dead when we got the $200+ bill.

Can't wait to see you at the rally. There sure will be lots of blogs going out from the folks there. :-)

Sorry that we won't get to see you at the rally. Our kids (and grandkid) are flying to Texas to see us, so we obviously won't be there. However, we will see you on the road some time - just don't know when or where. Have fun at the rally.
